We were so excited to get started that we made it a family affair! Following the lead of Tere Gonzalez, Botanist and consultant from Evergreen Hydroponics, we began our journey to Nutrient Dense, 100% Organic, PUR food. Purgreens Farm consists of 12 hydroponic Growing Towers, connected by nutrient infused water, at the optimal PH level, for perfect plant growth. The nutrient water is controlled by a timer, providing each plant pod with water every 15-20 minutes.
Each individual tower houses 44 growing pods, giving us a total of 528 amazing fruit, vegetable and herb options to nourish our bodies and minds. Building our towers not only provided great educational insight into the technologies of vertical growing, but connected us as individuals toward 1 common goal, the goal of PURbeing.
This was no easy task, it required communication, team work and trust. And did we mention that we built our towers in South Florida in August?!?! Whoa, exhaustion took on a whole different meaning at the end of this project!
None the less, we had FUN and lots of it! The path of life always seems to unite people and ideas that are for your best and highest good, this has been no exception! The friendship and compassion for our project is evident in everyone who touches it, and we are so proud of that!
